Everyone in Anacortes recommended this restaurant to us! It became our date night out hot spot. The cocktails are fun and decorative. The ceviche is a fresh, yummy appetizer. The stand out dish for us is the COA bacon shrimp and Carne Asada plate. My husband share it every time. If you have room try the Flan!

Hubby and I had been wanting to go since we moved to the area almost a year ago and finally got around to it the other day and I am so upset that we took this long!!! It was great! The best Mexican food we have found in bham area so far! Salsa had great flavor if I had to say anything we would have loved it to be a touch hotter but we do have a pretty high spice pallet so that is definitely personal preference and understand that other patrons probably wouldn't appreciate it as hot as we would have liked. I got enchiladas with the crème verde sauce and oh my the flavor was just *chefs kiss* hubby got the 3 street tacos which really is more like 6! The portions are great for the price and we left sooo happy and stuffed! Thank to the chefs and servers it was a hot blazen day and everyone was having fun and making everyone's day a little bit brighter!

Best Mexican food in Bellingham and it would not be out of place as a top restaurant in Mexico. The drinks are phenomenal and the tequila selection is great! I had a spicy reposado margarita and others in our group had a Cadillac margarita. We all ordered second rounds. You can tell they use fresh ingredients and everything is made from scratch. The food was top notch. We had the molcajete and I cannot wait to go back and have it again. We are from Seattle and I'm bummed that I cannot eat here all the time. Our service was also terrific. Our waiter was friendly and the owner came greeted us as well. This is a gem in Bellingham with favors and quality of ingredients you rarely find outside of Mexico.

We decided to try COA, after a friend recommended it as a new place to try. The restaurant features a casual, contemporary atmosphere. Greetings were courteous and prompt. As an Arizona native, I have an idea about what I like, and I love Sonoran Mexican food. The food at COA is very good, but quite different from my "go to." I had the chili rellano, which was especially delicious and tried one of my husband's tacos, which was also very good. (My husband felt the meat was tasty but not tender/moist.) We loved the chips, salsa and guacamole...YUM! The restaurant serves basic beans and rice with the meals (though not refried beans), has gluten free tortillas, and a relatively simple menu. We had hoped for a lunch menu, with specials, perhaps modified prices for the lunch crowd, and maybe senior portion options, but were disappointed. Don't go hoping for endless baskets of chips (only one is "on us" according to the menu) and don't go looking for a bargain...prices were rather high, we thought. We enjoyed our meal and will return, but the prices will not encourage us to become regulars.

We were originally going to another restaurant but they couldn't take us. We were disappointed that we couldn't go where we wanted to go but we were pleasantly surprised by this great find!!! When you walk in, there is a cute sign that I attached a photo of. It says, "FIESTA like its Mañana". It's so cute I had to take a photo. They were able to seat us in about 20 minutes on a Friday night. The staff was really nice and friendly and even though it was crowded the feel of the restaurant was lively but not too loud. The food though. I have to say, it was fantastic! Their mole sauce is something else. I LOVE mole sauce, and theirs is the best i have had so far. My friend had the chimichanga and she said it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Next time I travel north, this is definitely going to be a stop for me.

There are two other COA locations, in Mt. Vernon and La Conner. This Bellingham location opened relatively recently, and it is in the same location as the previous Latitude Kitchen. It is next to Applebee's in Sunset Square. They do not have a large parking lot, so be prepared to circle multiple times to locate a spot. In addition, waits are rather long, typically around 40 minutes. Once seated, be prepared to wait another 25 minutes for food. The inside is packed and loud, but very clean and modern. They also have a second floor seating area. COA's chips and salsa are some of the best I've had. These thick chips are warm and crunchy. We ordered the Mocajete for two, and it was great. Everything was well seasoned and flavorful, down to the rice and beans. We also tried their fried ice cream. That was not as good since the strawberries were not fresh. In addition, even though the menu said vanilla ice cream, they fried it with strawberry ice cream, which tasted kind of strange. Overall, it is a good place, but not necessarily worth the wait.

Oh my goodness the food is delicious, and very filling. Our waiter was fantastic and attentive! They were super busy during opening week but did a fantastic job of getting people in and out without any problems. I've now gone twice and always look forward to the next time !

I was hungry for Mexican food. I heard COA was opening a new location in Bellingham. I thought this was a good time to check it out. As it turned out, this was opening day and their first hour of operation. I was greeted immediately with a big smile and a cheerful, "Welcome!". Service continued to be very prompt, cheerful and friendly. The menu is the same as their location in Mount Vernon. I ordered carne asada. The plate had very generous servings, enough for two meals (unless, of course, you are a 22 year old male). The meat seemed a better grade than other restaurants. It was perfectly cooked, tender with almost no gristle or fat. The plate also included guacamole, beans, rice, veggies, etc. Everything was fresh and very tasty. I would definitely order this again. Something to look forward to... The building has two garage doors that open to an outside patio. The server said that during nice weather they will be open. Nice! When I arrived there were already several tables of customers. When I left only 50 minutes later, the place was already almost full and the phone was ringing with takeout orders. Not bad for their first day! Obviously their reputation proceeded them.
